Jeff Bezos the billionaire owner of Amazon has had his phone hacked by the Crowned Saudi Prince after receiving a WhatsApp message from the Prince, it has been alleged.
A malicious file was sent to Bezos from the personal number, claimed to be that of Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to hack his mobile phone, according to the Guardian newspaper.
A digital forensic investigation claimed it was highly likely the file was the source of the hack which captured large amounts of data from Bezo’s device.
In response to the hacking claim, Saudi Arabia’s US embassy called the allegations as “absurd” and have asked for an urgent investigation.
The embassy tweeted, “Recent media reports that suggest the Kingdom is behind a hacking of Mr. Jeff Bezos’ phone are absurd.
“We call for an investigation on these claims so that we can have all the facts out.”
