Hundreds of people are protesting at London’s Trafalgar Square over the George Floyd’s death by a US Police Officer last week.
Breaking the governments lockdown rules of large gatherings, the protestors held placards saying, “Black Lives Matter” with “Say his name, George Floyd.”
At 1pm on Sunday protestors took to Trafalgar Square to show their respect to Floyd. Demonstrations have rocked the US the last week seeing violent demonstrations with people being shot and a police station in Minnesota being burned.
Derek Chauvin who was a police officer with the Minnesota police was sacked after the footage emerged on social media showing him deliberately pressing his knee hard on Floyd’s neck, he could be heard saying “I can’t breathe.”
He later died in hospital, and four officers in total were fired.
Chauvin has since been taken into custody and charged with manslaughter and third-degree murder, there are calls for the other sacked officers to face legal action.
