Heathrow to offer virus tests that give results in an hour

Heathrow is set to offer passengers flying to Italy and Hong Kong a rapid coronavirus test starting today.

The test, which can be booked online for £80, delivers results within the hour as they do not require samples to be sent off to a laboratory.

Known as ‘LAMP’, these tests will be available at Terminals 2 and 5 at Heathrow.

It comes as both Italy and Hong Kong have made it mandatory for UK passengers to provide a negative coronavirus test result before their arrival.
