Belarus invades Ukraine and joins with Russia and its ‘possible that this war will become a massacre’

Ukrainian government have confirmed on Tuesday that Belarus has now invaded Ukraine as Belarusian troops have crossed the northern border.

“Belarusian troops have entered Chernihiv region, Suspilne Chernihiv,” said with reference to Vitaliy Kyrylov, a representative of the regional department of the Pivnich (North) territorial defense.

“Belarusian troops have entered Chernihiv region.

“Vitaliy Kyrylov, a representative of the regional department of the Pivnich (North) territorial defense, confirmed the information to Suspilny. More details later,” the Suspilne Chernihiv said in Telegram.

This was also backed by the Latvian Defence Minister, Dr Atis Pabriks who told the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee: “This basically means we have two aggressives at this moment officially.

“I am very much concerned that Russian troops, following orders from the top, will go into the mode similar to that President Assad was using against his population.”

This comes hours after Aleksandr Lukashenko the President of Belarus said that he will not join Vladimir Putin’s war.

Lukashenko said he is deploying more forces to the Ukraine border and the state news agency agency Belta quoted him as saying, “Those are well trained rapid deployment groups which are ready to stop any provocation and any military action against Belarus.”

A tweet from the official @verkhovna_rada Twitter account for the parliament of Ukraine, said, “Belarusian troops have entered Chernihiv region.

“The information was confirmed to the public by Vitaliy Kyrylov, spokesman for the North Territorial Defence Forces.”

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis warned on Tuesday that Putin has “no boundaries” to what military tactics he will use against Ukraine.

Speaking to the Foreign Affairs Committee, he told MPs, “It is possible that this war will become a massacre.”

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who is in Poland today said, “There’s no doubt that he is already using barbaric tactics, bombing civilian areas.

“I have seen the reports about cluster bombs and thermobaric weapons, they will, of course, have to be verified.

“I think that everybody involved in the Russian onslaught should understand that all this will be collated in evidence to be used at a future time in what could be proceedings before the International Criminal Court.”
