Beijing has said on Monday afternoon that the Chinese Army will intensify their military activity and warned Taiwan’s attempts for independence will “lead to a dead end.”

The Chinese Defense Ministry Spokesman Wu Qian issued a warning this afternoon that the armed forces will intensify their miliary activity amid provocative steps taken by Taipei separatists.

Qian said that the Chinese air force and navy are conducting military drills and warned that a “sharp sword is hanging above their heads.”

Taiwan’s presidential office called on China to “cease military provocations that undermine regional peace and stability, and stop threatening Taiwan’s democracy and freedom.”

Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te said, “In the face of external threats, I would like to reassure my compatriots that the government will continue to defend the democratic and free constitutional system, protect democratic Taiwan, and safeguard national security.”

The Chinese Defence Ministry said in a statement, “The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will intensify its activity if supporters of the so-called independence of Taiwan commit [another] act of provocation. Until we settle the Taiwan issue once and for all.”

They added, “We want to make it clear to them in words they can understand – a sharp sword is hanging high above their heads and that attempts at ‘independence’ will lead to a dead end.”

He continued, “We are ready to seek peaceful reunification with the utmost sincerity and zeal. But we will never commit to renouncing the use of military force.”

Qian warned, “The Joint Sword-2024B is not a repetition of the 2024A edition, but a stronger response” in sending a clear message to Taipei’s separatists.

On Monday Chinese warships and fighter jets have surrounded Taiwan in what has been seen as a possible threat of invasion.

Taipei has said this is an “unreasonable provocation” by Chinese military conducting drills which is called Joint Sword 2024-B involves rocket forces, the army, air force and navy around the self-governing Island.

Beijing has said this is a “stern warning” to “separatist acts of Taiwan independence forces” as warships and fighter jets have been deployed encircling the island.
