Short-term lender Wonga’s CEO Niall Wass has stepped down just six months after he joined the company.
The company said Wass is taking up a job in another company.
The news comes just two months after Wonga co-founder Errol Damelin left the firm entirely.
Wonga’s finance director Tim Weller will be appointed interim chief executive with immediate effect.
In a statement, Wass said: “My time with the company has been busy and productive, seeing Wonga launch in several new markets, but we’re now at the beginning of a new chapter and I felt the time was right to take a new opportunity elsewhere. There are some exceptional people here and Tim is inheriting a strong team.”
