Travel chaos as trains between Reading and London Paddington cancelled

Commuters coming to the capital faced severe disruption this morning as trains between Reading and London Paddington were suspended due to overrunning engineering work.

First Great Western said all services on the route were cancelled untill 11:00am. The rail company allowed its customers to use their tickets on South West Trains services between Reading and London Waterloo.

Heathrow Connect express services between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport have also been cancelled.

Passengers have been advised to travel “only if their journeys are essential.”
