The odds on Liz Truss to leave her role this year have been slashed to 13/2 from 8/1 after her keynote speech at the Tory conference on Wednesday morning.
Truss is close to odds-on at 6/5 to depart in 2023 and 5/2 to go before the end of 2024, whilst Rishi Sunak is the 7/2 favourite to be the next Tory leader, with Kemi Badenoch’s odds shortening to 5/1 from 7/1 overnight.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “After her keynote speech at Wednesday’s Tory conference, which lasted a little over half an hour, odds on Liz Truss to leave her role this year have been slashed to 13/2 from 8/1.
Truss, whose speech was interrupted by Greenpeace protesters and included no new policies, is close to odds-on at 6/5 to leave No.10 before the end of 2023.
“Rishi Sunak, who did not attend the Tory conference, is the 7/2 favourite to replace Truss, while Kemi Badenoch is 5/1 to be the party’s next leader, having been 7/1 just 24 hours ago.”
