A man who robbed Barclay bank in Christchurch Bournemouth whilst holding a banana has been jailed for 14 months.
The robber threatened a cashier with a banana covered in a plastic bag robbed a branch of Barclays bank of £1,100.
He shouted, “this is a stick up give me the cash” he then walked away with the money, and shortly afterward he handed himself into a police station.
Detective Constable Andy Hale, of Bournemouth CID said, “Even though the defendant handed himself in shortly after this incident and the cash was recovered, this must still have been a very distressing incident for the cashier involved.”
