Odds on Liz Truss to step down as Conservative party leader by the end of the year continue to tumble and she’s now 4/5 to leave Number 10 in 2022.

With rumours circulating around who could take over, Rishi Sunak is the 13/8 favourite to replace her, with Jeremy Hunt next at 11/2 and Ben Wallace 6/1.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “After the Prime Minister’s press conference on Friday, rumours surrounding her future have continued to mount, and her odds on leaving Number 10 by the end of the year continue to tumble on Betfair Exchange.

“She’s now odds-on at 4/5 to move out of Downing Street in 2022, having been 3/1 before Friday’s press conference.

“There have been reports today suggesting a number of MPs are rallying support for a leadership challenge if the PM does step down. Rishi Sunak, who was runner up last time, is 13/8 to replace her, newly appointed chancellor Jeremy Hunt is 11/2 and Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace 6/1.”
