International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde doesn’t pay any tax on her salary, The Guardian has reported.
The news comes just three days after she beckoned Greeks to pay their taxes despite the economic turmoil the country is in.
Lagarde doesn’t pay tax on her salary of $467,940 (£298,675) because officials of United Nations institutions such as the IMF are exempt from taxes. She is said to have a bigger pay package than than American president Barack Obama.
The IMF boss also gets $83,760 (£54,000) as additional allowance every year on which she pays no tax.
