Transport project HS2 has delayed the appointment date to Q1 this year for hiring contractors to build Euston and Old Oak Stations, this was due to be announced end of last year.
A spokesperson from HS2 said, “At Euston and Old Oak Common, the arrival of HS2 will deliver much needed extra capacity, better connectivity and the opportunity to unlock thousands of new jobs and homes around both station sites.
“Our enabling works contractors are already on site clearing the way for the start of the main build phase and delivering essential pre-construction works including essential utility works, demolition and our extensive archaeology programme.
“We are working closely with government to complete the contract award process for both station construction partners and we will announce the winners early this year.”
London First infrastructure director David Leam has concerns that, “too many projects are becalmed through government drift, indecisions and delay.
“Ministers mustn’t let Brexit shunt domestic policy into the deep freeze.”
