Healthy 21-year old woman dies from coronavirus

A fit and healthy 21-year old woman who had no pre-existing underlying health conditions has died from coronavirus.

Chloe Middleton is thought to be the first person to die with no underlying health conditions in the UK and the youngest.

She died on 21 March and was from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

Diane Middleton the daughters mother wrote on Facebook, To all the people out there that thinks it’s just a virus please think again speaking from a personal experience this so called virus has taken the life of my 21-year-old daughter.”

Emily Mistry, the aunty confirmed Chloe “had no underlying health conditions,” and the family are “shattered beyond believe.”

Diane’s sister, Amy Middleton said, “She went above and beyond for me and was my best friend even though she had a habit of pinching my clothes, so many great memories that I’m so, so, so grateful we got to make and share and that will never be forgotten!

“Her only concern in life was if she looked bloody bloated so please don’t take this virus lightly because you never know what’s around the corner … ”

She added, “About time people took this seriously, before too many people end up in this devastating position!”

The UK has a record number of deaths from coronavirus in just 24 hours, after 87 more people died in the UK, bringing the total to 422.

Department for Health and Social Care announced, “As of 9am on 24 March, a total of 90,436 have been tested: 82,359 negative. The UK now has 8,077 people with coronavirus, up by 1,427 from 6,650 on Monday.

England has a total 83 deaths out of the 87 in the UK, with two in Scotland, one in Wales, and one in Northern Ireland, which is up from 55 deaths across the whole of the UK on Monday.

London North University Healthcare NHS Trust recorded 21 deaths across their four hospitals.

NHS England’s medical director, Professor Stephen Powis has said the NHS could start testing “hundreds of thousands of people per day” for coronavirus.

Professor Powis told LBC that coronavirus testing is being expanded and within days there will be more testing for NHS workers.

He said, “We want to get hundreds of thousands of tests ramped up in the next few weeks per day.”

The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has addressed the nation on Monday evening, he said he was “reluctant to do this” but he is effectively announcing a lockdown for three weeks.
