Two independent operators are growing their London presence with new openings at Greenland’s award-winning Ram Quarter development in southwest London – the former Young’s brewery site in Wandsworth.

Japanese restaurant brand, Sushi Moka, has opened a 795 sq ft unit in Bubbling Well Square at the heart of the development, alongside established leisure occupiers including Sambrook’s Brewery, fine-dining specialist London Stock and London’s newest boutique bowling alley Strike.

Taken on a 15-year lease, Sushi Moka’s Wandsworth outlet is the brand’s second site, building on its successful existing restaurant in Marylebone.  Sushi Moka cooks authentic Japanese cuisine with a Western fusion twist, using only the finest, locally sourced ingredients.

Leading beauty salon, iLuvo, also launched its second branch at Ram Quarter recently with a 695 sq ft unit on a 15-year lease opening onto Ram Quarter’s Ryeland Boulevard, where it offers a range of beauty services and treatments.  The new site complements iLuvo’s dedicated laser clinic in Pimlico and it joins a lifestyle line-up at Ram Quarter with neighbours that include HomeWork flexible workspace and Dapper Fox barber.

Taotao Song, CEO of Greenland (UK), said: “There has been a lot of discussion about occupancy rates in the hospitality and leisure sectors but these latest openings show that there are still plenty of opportunities for the right sites with the right offer.

“With homes, local workspace and direct access to central London from Wandsworth Town, we’ve seen continued demand post-pandemic from boutique operators looking for a blend of community and commuter footfall.  Sushi Moka and iLuvo complement the dynamic, independent brands that we already have in place to bolster our distinctive occupier mix.”

Greenland asset manages 70,000 sq ft of ground floor retail and leisure space across more than 4.5 acres at Ram Quarter.  Alongside high-quality commercial units, it has delivered more than 300 new homes at the site, including restored loft apartments within the Grade-II listed brewery buildings.  The development is also home to a Heritage Centre telling the brewing history of Ram Quarter and Wandsworth Town.
