As the polls closed, the 2019 General Election exit poll showed a strong lead for Boris Johnson and the Conservative Party with a majority of 86 of the 650 parliamentary seats available.

France’s European affairs minister Amelie de Montchalin told reporters in Brussels, “What’s certain tonight is that this clarification seems to have come

“The most important thing with Brexit is not the way we divorce, it’s what we build afterwards,”

In 2017, the exit poll predicted the Tories would end up with 314 seats, just four short of the 318 the party actually won.

The 2015 exit poll was more accurate than the opinion polls during the campaign but did not predict a Conservative majority.
