The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has said that the second largest city has been “massively fired upon by grad rockets.”

The Russian army massively shelled Kharkiv killing dozens of people were killed leaving  hundreds more were wounded, Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, said.

“Kharkiv has just been massively shelled with Grad multiple rocket launchers. Dozens of dead and hundreds of wounded! This horror must be seen by the whole world! Death to the occupiers!” Gerashchenko wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.

The leathal Grad rocket launchers can fire 40 rockets each and can deliver around 256kg of explosives and can obliterate a wide area within 20 seconds.

Unverified footage which is too brutal for us to show shows many dead civilians lying in streets following the shelling in Kharkiv on Monday.

Satellite images provided by Maxar shows that thousands of Russian troops have left Belarus and are in a 3.5 mile long convoy heading for Kyiv.

Amongst the 3.5 miles convoy are tanks, self-propelled artillery, armoured vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles and logistical vehicles which around 40 miles from Kyiv.

Kyiv is home to around 3 million people and Russian troops are preparing for a full scale invasion of the city and are attempting to surround the capital.
