Germany is intensifying its commitment to bolster Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities, as outlined by Defence Minister Boris Pistorius during recent discussions at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.
This initiative marks a significant expansion of Germany’s military support to enhance Ukraine’s defences in response to ongoing threats.
The support package includes a range of measures focusing on advanced air defence systems and strike capabilities.
Notably, it includes additional launchers to complement the previously delivered IRIS-T air defence systems. These systems are crucial for intercepting aerial threats, thereby improving Ukraine’s ability to defend its airspace effectively.
Moreover, Germany is establishing a new strategic partnership with Ukraine, emphasizing collaboration in the development and production of medium- and long-range drones. As part of this comprehensive initiative, the German government has committed approximately €300 million to the acquisition of long-range drones that are manufactured in Ukraine.
