Asda to price match Aldi and Lidl rivals on almost 300 items

Asda are to price match Aldi and Lidl on 287 items and the list includes breakfast cereal, fruit and fresh meat, an 80 pack of Asda Golden tea bags will now cost £1.39 instead of £2.

Twice a week Asda will price check comparable products that are sold in Lidl and Aldi, the supermarket chain will then match the price of the cheapest two items.

“Asda has over 50 years heritage as the customer champion, and we understand we have an important role to play in local communities to help families get the most from their budgets,” said chief customer officer David Hills.

“We have launched Aldi and Lidl Price Match to help them save both time and money.”
