Amazon to split HQ2 between two locations?

E-commerce giant Amazon could be picking two sites for its new headquarters, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The tech giant is close to agreements that would split the new headquarters between two locales, most likely to be Crystal City area of Arlington in Northern Virginia, and another could be Long Island City in the New York borough of Queens.

Amazon executives met with Governor Andrew M Cuomo two weeks ago, one of the sources told media, adding that the state had offered potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies.

“I am doing everything I can,” Governor Cuomo told media when asked about the state’s efforts to lure the company, adding: “We have a great incentive package. I’ll change my name to Amazon Cuomo if that’s what it takes,” Governor Cuomo said. “Because it would be a great economic boost.”
