The public prosecutors office in Munich who are investigating, have said a politically motivated motive “cannot be ruled out,” AFP reported.

The two Ukrainian soldiers had been receiving medical rehabilitation care when they were stabbed in the neck, the police said.

“A 36-year-old died from serious injuries on site, the second victim (23 years old) died in a nearby hospital that evening.”

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “On April 27, two Ukrainian citizens, men born in 1987 and 2001, were killed by stabbing in Murnau am Stafelsee, Bavaria, Germany, at a local shopping centre.
