888 Holdings the online gambling company has cheered an “encouraging” start to 2019 as revenues have soared to almost a fifth.
The online gambling giant posted an 18% hike for like-for-like revenues in the UK between 1 January and 18 May due to sales from recreational customers.
The group posted overall like-for-like revenues in the first quarter by 6% due to marketing investment and the new Orbit Casino platform, both helped boost new customers by 20%.
Itai Pazner, chief executive of 888 Holdings said, “888 has enjoyed a solid start to the year with strong momentum in casino and sport across a number of the group’s major regulated markets.
“Whilst poker has remained challenging, we were pleased to see an improving revenue trend in the first quarter of 2019 against the fourth quarter of 2018.”
