Did Britain make the list?
The world’s top countries with the happiest workers have been revealed and the UK isn’t even in the top 10 or the top 20. It’s been ranked a mediocre 30th.
The ranking, which was compiled by Swedish branding company Universum, surveyed 250,000 professionals in 55 markets.
Called the “Global Happiness Index”, the research took into account factors such as employee’s satisfaction at their current job, the likelihood of recommending their current employer and their stated sense of job loyalty.
Belgium came out on top followed by Norway and Costa Rica.
The report said: “Only when an organisation has honed in on the challenges facing a particular segment (whether defined by region, gender, role, or some other subset/combination), can it apply a prescription that will impact performance.
“This type of meticulous analysis and optimisation is critical as a business tool — and it’s a function of viewing talent management as a strategic business asset rather than as an HR function.”
