Russian forces have shot dead “10 people standing in line for bread” in what has been described as a “horrific” massacre in Chernihiv, Ukraine.

The US embassy in Kyiv wrote on Twitter account, “Today, Russian forces shot and killed 10 people standing in line for bread in Chernihiv.

“Such horrific attacks must stop.

“We are considering all available options to ensure accountability for any atrocity crimes in Ukraine.”

The Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak warned on Wednesday there has been a “radical change” with Russian forces since Ukraine soldiers launched a counteroffensive.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russian troops have “continued to shell peaceful Ukrainian cities and towns” overnight in Kharkiv.

The Ukrainian President confirmed that six people from a city in Kyiv province have been taken hostage, Zelensky said, “The Russian state has turned into a real terrorist and it has no shame.”

The British Ministry of Defence (MoD) said, “Russia’s continued failure to gain control of the air has drastically limited their ability to effectively use air manoeuvre, further limiting their options.

“The tactics of the Ukrainian armed forces have adeptly exploited Russia’s lack of manoeuvre, frustrating the Russian advance and inflicting heavy losses on the invading forces.”
