The Russian Defence Ministry has claimed that a ballistic missile attack on Kharkiv killed dozens of Western military instructors on Tuesday.

Russian state media has said an “Iskander-M missiles defense system” attacked a deployment point of Western mercenaries and instructors in the areas of Derhachi, northeast Kharkiv.

State run TASS news agency citing a defence source said, “[An] Iskander-M missile defense system launched an attack on the temporary deployment point of instructors and mercenaries from Western countries in the locality of Derhachi, Kharkiv region.”

The source added, “As a result of the strike, about 50 foreign instructors were killed.”

The Ukrainian authorities have not made any comments over Moscow’s claims and it is not possible to verify the details.
