A “British national has been killed in Ukraine” and has been named as Scott Sibley, another has gone “missing” the Foreign Office has confirmed.
Sky News reported that the two British fighters could have been volunteers “fighting” against Russian forces, although this has not been confirmed by the government.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) did not provide any details on what the British nationals were doing in Ukraine
An FCDO spokesperson said, “We can confirm that a British national has been killed in Ukraine and are supporting their family.”
The FCDO said on the second British national, “We are aware of a British national who is missing in Ukraine and are supporting their family.
“We are urgently seeking further information.”
