Boris Johnson has been accused of clocking off early after he announced his resignation and “so have many of his Ministers” Labour has blasted.

The Prime Minister is set to have missed the third COBRA meeting today as the UK is battling with a heatwave never seen before in Britain.

Shadow communities secretary Lisa Nandy said Johnson has “clearly clocked off” she added, “And so have many of his Ministers in his government.”

The few days will see record temperatures as the mercury will hit well above 40C in parts of the country and Nandy said the government must “turn up for work.”

Angela Rayner accused the Prime Minister of “going missing in action again” as he was preparing his farewell party at Chequers.

A Tory source told Sky News over the weekend, “The invitation comes from Mr and Mrs Johnson.

“It is their farewell bash at Chequers this weekend. Partners and children are all invited.”

Rayner said, “Boris Johnson has gone missing in action again.

“He’s back to his old tricks of skipping important COBRA meetings.”
