A physicist has said that the interstellar object 3I/Atlas may have changed its course and could now “intercept Earth.”
The object known as 3I/Atlas is travelling towards Earth at 130,000mph was detected on 1 July, it has left millions of people globally who are worried after theories have emerged it could be an “alien mothership.”
Experts from the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) first detected the object.
3I/Atlas trajectory is causing a stir amongst scientists, astronomers, space agencies and NASA who are on alert.
Physicist Dr John Brandeburg has warned the object could have altered its course, he wrote on X, the “full effect of the observed changes in the 3I ATLAS jets may be to change its orbit to Intercept Earth.”

Scientist believes 3I/Atlas is ‘an intelligent visitor from another solar system’
Dr Brandenburg posted high-resolution images of the object and said the “trajectory estimate” for the comet is proving there is a propulsive force, this could therefore in theory alter its direction of travel, this is not normal for comets.
The physicist said the acceleration could put the object on a course with Earth which could collide and be catastrophic.
Another scientist has come forward with a theory that the interstellar object 3I/Atlas is possibly an “intelligent visitor from another solar system.”
Michio Kaku, professor of theoretical physics at the City College of New York has come forward saying that if the interstellar object picks up extra energy as it emerges from behind the Sun then something is steering the possible “alien ship.”
Professor Kaku said in an interview with NEWSMAX, “Perhaps this is a visitor, an intelligent visitor from another solar system.
“This week, it turns out that the asteroid or comet will be whizzing around our sun. And if it picks up extra energy on its flyby, that would clinch it.
“That means there’s extra-terrestrial intelligence involved. So watch for it.”
He added that on the 29 to 30 October the object will reach its closest point to the Sun, scientists will then be tracking it to find out if it gets an extra uplift.
Kaku said, “If so, it means we are being visited.”
Astrophysicist Dr Avi Loeb has issued a terrifying statement saying the object is “not natural” and “from an engineer’s perspective” 3I/Atlas is a “mothership that releases mini-probes” and will “’slow down at perihelion and intercept Earth, taking advantage of the Sun’s gravitational assist,” however the Harvard Professor said this will depend on the mass “of the mini-probe.”
Dr Loeb said the “comet” does not have one major thing that all comets have, a tail.
He said, “There were claims of a tail.
“But since 3I/ATLAS is accelerating and its current size is not much larger than the angular resolution of Earth-based telescopes, it is not easy to avoid fictitious elongation of the image as a result of the object’s motion.”
