Labour hit with a damning blow as new polling puts them in second place behind the Conservative Party, four months after winning the general election.
More in Common conducted the polling which shows Kemi Badenoch’s party at 29% and Labour behind at 27%, with Reform UK in third place at 19%.
The Liberal Democrats are at fourth place at 11% and the Green Party are at 8% with the Scottish National Party (SNP) at only 2%.
The UK Director at More In Common Luke Tryl said, “As you would expect at this stage people are not that familiar with Kemi Badenoch.
“As that familiarity figure grows the early first impressions she makes as Leader of the Opposition will be key to setting the course of her leadership.
“This is very early into term, new leadership, so things will shift one way or another and it’s most useful as a benchmark for judging what happens next.”
