Farage puts foreign criminals ‘on notice’ they will be deported to Central America

21st Jul 25 2:38 pm

The Reform UK leader have vowed to send thousands of Britain’s more dangerous criminals to overseas prisons.

Nigel Farage has announced a Donald Trump style initiative to send foreign prisoners to “partner” nations such as Central America and the aim is to “cut crime in half” within five years.

On Monday Farage said at press conference that Reform UK will be the “toughest party on law and order” and his party will “take back control of our streets” and vows to “take back control of our courts.”

Farage said at the press conference in Westminster, “If you’re a criminal, we are putting you on notice. In 2029, you have a choice to make: be a law-abiding citizen or face serious justice.”

Former magistrate and now MP Sarah Pochin said, “The cost to the British taxpayer of prison places is currently estimated at over £50,000 per year and rising.

“By sending our most serious offenders to overseas jails, we greatly reduce this cost and at the same time they experience a tougher prison environment and lose privileges such as family visits which, quite frankly, they don’t deserve.”

The Reform UK leader has pledged that they will recruit 30,000 new police officers, which has failed thus far with the Conservatives and so far under Labour.

Farage has vowed that for prisoners convicted of knife, sexual or serious violent offences they will face deportation, currently there is 10,400 foreign prisoners in jails across the UK.

British citizens who are in prisons overseas could be returned in an exchange programme.

Farage was asked what will Reform do should other countries do not want to take back their citizens who are in prison here in the UK, he said, “We will make it very straightforward.

“We will end travel, end Visa restrictions, so we have plenty of muscle to be able to do this. That is for existing prisoners.

The secondary consideration would be you can send a prisoner to serve their sentence in Estonia – that is going to cost the British taxpayer about £20,000 a year, as opposed to the current £50,000 a year, and I think that will be overwhelmingly popular with the public.”

Halving the crime across the UK will save £17.4 billion of taxpayers in a five year period of Reform being in Parliament, warning that under Labour the current situation is “grim and serious,” saying the country is in a “mess.”

Farage said, “There is nothing left wing or right wing about desperately wanting our society’s streets to be a lot safer than they are today.”
