TheCityUK has appointed Adam Wendelboe as its new Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. He also assumes the role of Company Secretary.

Adam joins TheCityUK from AMR International, a global strategy consulting firm, where he is a Partner and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that he was a strategy consultant for KPMG Boxwood, and also previously held a range of strategy roles at Thomson Reuters in its Boston, New York, and London offices.

He joins TheCityUK at an important time for the financial and related professional services industry and will work closely with the Executive Team and members to steer the organisation and take forward its strategy.

Adam takes over from Marcus Scott who, after a decade with the organisation, left to become CEO of technology company EasylifeIT.

Adam Wendelboe said, “As someone who has worked in many parts of the financial and related professional services industry, both in the UK and the US, I have long admired TheCityUK and its work to support and promote our industry. Brexit and the challenges arising from the Covid-19 pandemic make this a unique and important moment for the industry. I look forward to working with colleagues and members to ensure the industry is well positioned to meet these challenges and build on the UK’s world-leading position as an international financial centre.”

Miles Celic, Chief Executive Officer, TheCityUK, said, “This is a key role for the organisation, especially as we continue to progress our strategy and manage the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead post-Covid and post-Brexit. I know that Adam will add enormous value to TheCityUK, to colleagues and to our members and I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Adam has a BS in Statistics, an MBA in Finance & Strategy and studied Strategy at MIT and Harvard Business School. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), qualified accountant (ACMA) and holds a Six Sigma Blackbelt.

He will continue to work part time at AMR International until the end of March when he will take on the role full time at TheCityUK.
