The Met Office have issued a “yellow warning” as up to six inches of snow has been forecast to hit the UK before News Year’s Day.
Parts of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cotswold’s and the Midlands have already been hit with heavy snow.
Temperatures on Tuesday will plummet into “freezing, perhaps getting as low as -10C in Western Scotland,” with more wintry weather is expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

The AA have predicted treacherous weather conditions if thawing snow turns into ice overnight, with freezing fog patches across the UK on Tuesday.
The AA’s Ben Sheridan warned, “Thawing snow, rainfalls and freezing temperatures overnight lead to challenging driving conditions, with roads likely to be icy in the morning.”
Later today six inches of snow is expected to hit parts of Wales, Peak District, Staffordshire, Shropshire, the Midlands and the South West.

Wales could have up to 5cm of snow, whilst central and Southern England have a small chance of 10 to 15cm most likely on high ground.
Most places will see very little to no snow but there could be a “slight covering of a centimeter or so, is possible in a few places.”
