A car was driven at members of the public leaving four injured and one person was stabbed at a synagogue in Manchester.
Video footage taken at the scene shows the moment police shot a suspect then shouted at members of the public to move quickly saying “he has a bomb.”
Manchester Police said the suspect has been shot by specialist firearms officers at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogues in Crumpsall.

Greater Manchester Police was alerted at 9.31am and within three minutes the specialist firearms officers were at the scene.
The force said: “Police were called to the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, on Middleton Road, Crumpsall, at 9.31am by a member of the public, stating he had witnessed a car being driven towards members of he public, and one man had been stabbed.

GMP declared PLATO and a major incident at 9.37am. Shots were fired by Greater Manchester Police firearms officers at 9.38am. One man has been shot, believed to be the offender.
“Paramedics arrived at the scene at 9.41am and are tending to members of the public, currently four members of the public with injuries caused by both the vehicle and stab wounds.
“Members of the public are asked to avoid the area while the police continue to deal with the incident.”

Andy Burnham told BBC Radio Manchester, “It is a serious incident.
“I can give some reassurance immediately to people that that immediate danger appears to be over and Greater Manchester Police have dealt with it very quickly.”
In a statement on X, Sir Keir Starmer said: “I’m appalled by the attack at a synagogue in Crumpsall.
“The fact that this has taken place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more horrific.
“My thoughts are with the loved ones of all those affected, and my thanks go to the emergency services and all the first responders.”
The Community Security Trust (CST) said this incident an “appalling attack on the holiest day of the Jewish year.
They added, “CST is working with police and the local Jewish community following a serious incident at a synagogue in north Manchester.
“This appears to be an appalling attack on the holiest day of the Jewish year. We thank the GMP officers and synagogue security who responded immediately to deal with the incident.
