Millionaire plumber, Charlie Mullins, whose former company operated a fleet of 250 diesel vans in London says he will pay nurses’ ULEZ charge so they can continue saving lives.
He said: “This is a tax on working people that will cost patients their lives, and so must be abolished immediately.
“PM Rishi Sunak needs to grow a pair and force Mayor Khan to back down and rip out the ULEZ cameras across all of London.”
Mullins is prepared to pay the ULEZ for all newly affected nurses in September, after which time he is confident the massive revolt in London will force the Prime Minister to ‘do the right thing.’
“It ain’t right to force people to pay sixty odd quid a week (£12.50 a day) just to go to work!
“This is people’s livelihoods we’re talking about, and even more scary is Mayor Khan is putting patients’ lives at risk.
“Mark my words, ULEZ on Tuesday, deaths on Wednesday!”
For the month of September Mullins will refund the ULEZ for any nurse who is forced to pay
because his or her car is subject to the charge.
