South Korea’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has said North Korea has supplied Russia with more than 12 million artillery shells.

The DIA said that Pyongyang has sent some 28,000 containers filled with artillery shells and weapons.

The DIA said, “If counted as 152mm shells, the total is believed to be over 12 million rounds.”

Citing an intelligence assessment from unnamed Ukrainian officials, CNN reported that North Korea will send a further 25,000 to 30,000 troops to fight alongside Russian forces.

On Sunday state media announced that the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has offered Vladimir Putin full support in his war in Ukraine, during talks with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Lavrov expressed his “sincere gratitude to Pyongyang” for their role in fighting in the Kursk region and both sides have “agreed” the West is responsible for “the growing tension” on the Korean peninsula.
