Morrisons has said 365 jobs are at risk of redundancy as supermarket chain is planning to close fresh food counters, cafes, florists and convenience stores.
Morrisons said it is costing them more money to run the services than it takes in revenue.
The closures will hit 52 cafes, 35 fish and meat counters, 18 market kitchens, 17 Morrisons Daily convenience stores and 13 florists.
Rami Baitieh, Morrisons’ chief executive, said this is “necessary part of our plans to renew and reinvigorate” the supermarket and they will invest in areas that “customers really value.”
“Although these changes are relatively small in the context of the overall scale of the Morrisons business, we do not take lightly the disruption and uncertainty they will cause to some of our colleagues,” he added.
