Four British institutions among the world's top six universities – which are they?

Four British universities are among the six best universities in the world.

The UK’s Cambridge University (2), University of Oxford (2), University College London (5) and Imperial College London (5) have taken up some of the top spots on the QS ranking of world universities.

“These rankings support what our students, alumni, staff, friends and collaborators know, that Imperial is one of the world’s great universities,” said Professor Alice Gast, president of Imperial College. “Imperial has a rare ability to turn outstanding research into discoveries that have a real impact on the world.”

While Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) came first on the list, other British universities that made it to the top 30 include Kings College London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Manchester universities. Glasgow, Warwick, Birmingham and Sheffield universities made it to top 70.
