London mayor Boris Johnson today unveiled the big blue cock in Trafalgar Square, much to the amusement of many Londoners.
The cock installed on the Fourth Plinth is a part of a revolving series of artworks.
Designed by German artist Katharina Fritsch, the 14ft cock, in ultramarine blue, has got a flurry of tweets.
Veteran broadcaster Jon Snow, who was present at the launch, tweeted “Fertility and symbolism” with pictures of the cockerel.
