NSFW! Tory MP accidentally tweets porn site instead of news

Someone’s enjoying their 11am coffee break…

Tory MP Rob Wilson has livened up Twitter this morning by accidentally posting a link to a free porn website.

Wilson, MP for Reading East, tried to post a link to a piece by blogger Guido Fawkes reporting on complaints about a BBC interview with Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith, but ended up including the racy link instead of a link to the report.

“I see Guido has a piece about the #BBC’s interview with IDS. A formal complaint to Lord Hall. Deserved in this case. [link]” he wrote.

The site link went to “SexyDigg”, offering internet readers the chance to “find sex partners near you” and look for “free porn” (see image above).

On contacting Rob Wilson’s office, a member of the MP’s staff told LondonlovesBusiness.com that they had just got a call from Conservative headquarters.

“We just got a call from CCHQ, we don’t know what happened,” he said.

However he then suggested it was a tech fault, adding: “It was a mess-up with the tinyurl creator.”

Asked why there was audible giggling in the background, he said one of the office was watching TV.

The tweet was swiftly deleted, but can still be seen here.

LondonlovesBusiness.com understands that rather than Wilson’s personal web use leading to this cock-up, CCHQ had texted him the link to the adult website as part of their operations of getting MPs to tweet relevant stories, and he made the mistake of tweeting the link without checking.

Meanwhile a Tory source said that the adult website link came about due to a “technical error with the URL shortener”.
