Bitcoin might become regulated in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority. That’s according to the entrepreneur behind a Bitcoin currency exchange, who was yesterday discussing Bitcoin regulation with Downing Street.
Tom Robinson, co-founder of online Bitcoin exchange platform Bitprice, said: “We know [the FCA are] looking at Bitcoin and seeing how it fits into existing regulation”.
He added: “In terms of regulation, the UK has been slow to act, while the US and Germany have issued guidance.”
His comments were made to City A.M.
