“Messy and expensive” WH Smith has been rated the worst store in the Britain, a Which? Survey has revealed.

In its defence WH Smith said its bottom position was “unrepresentative of the 12 million customers who enter our stores each week”.

The second-most hated shop is EE and TK Maxx has been branded the third worst.

Apple beat last year’s winner Lush to top the list. This year, Lush came in second and Disney Store came in third.

The poll also found that Britons love Poundland more than French Connection and Harvey Nichols. Also, 99p Stores and Poundstretcher beat House of Fraser.

Which? executive director Richard Lloyd said, “We hope shops do the right thing to keep their customers and hold back the decline of the high street.”
