UK GDP grew by 0.3% month-on-month in November, recovering from a 0.1% contraction in October.
This was driven by 1.1% growth in production, as well as a recovery in service activity, which grew by 0.3% after a 0.3% fall in October.
Manufacturing activity grew by 2.1%, supported by a 25.5% rise the manufacturing of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers, as production normalised following the cyberattack in August. Meanwhile, monthly construction output fell for the second consecutive month. Output fell by 1.3%, due to decreases in both new work and repair and maintenance.
With December’s data still to be released, Cebr expects growth to come in at 1.4% for 2025, with this weak momentum carrying forward into 2026, where growth of 1.3% is forecast.
