UFO investigator warns Pentagon files fuel fears ‘something is imminent’

A UFO investigator has warned that “something is imminent” and that the public is heading towards a moment of “shock revelations”, as the Trump administration continues the release of long-classified US government files on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs).

The comments come amid a fresh wave of disclosures from the Pentagon, which has begun publishing historical reports, military sensor data and recorded encounters spanning more than eight decades — part of a broader push to declassify material previously withheld from public view, the Express US reported.

The latest releases, which began on May 8, include hundreds of pages of documents dating back to the 1940s, alongside more than 20 video files recorded by military systems across multiple theatres, including Syria, Japan and North America. The archive also contains State Department cables, FBI material and NASA transcripts from crewed space missions.

A second tranche released last week added a further 64 files, including six PDF documents, seven audio recordings and 51 videos of unidentified aerial phenomena captured by military aircraft and surveillance systems.

Among the material is a first-hand account from an intelligence officer in 2025 describing an encounter that reportedly left him “virtually speechless”.

The Pentagon has not verified any conclusion that the objects represent extraterrestrial technology, and officials have repeatedly stressed that many sightings remain unresolved due to insufficient data, sensor limitations or conventional explanations that have not yet been confirmed.

However, the volume and breadth of material has reignited debate around the long-standing question of whether governments have been more aware of unidentified aerial phenomena than previously acknowledged.

Josh Golembeske, a UAP investigator and television producer who co-hosts the programme Cosmic Disclosure on the streaming platform Gaia, said the growing body of material suggests the world is moving towards a significant turning point.

“The evidence is overwhelming that we’re being visited,” he claimed. “There’s been a lid put on it.”

He suggested the staged release of government files was part of a managed process designed to gradually prepare the public for more significant disclosures.

“There’s been a long push from the public and behind the scenes to get to this moment,” he said. “So now this administration is more open to it.”

Describing the current approach as a form of “controlled disclosure”, he argued that officials were deliberately releasing information in phases to avoid public alarm.

“I think this is a slow drip disclosure, and you could argue it’s compassionate disclosure,” he said. “This is actually how I would do it, because I know that people are going to be shocked and I wouldn’t just drop everything on them.”

He added that further revelations may be approaching.

“It feels like something is imminent,” he said. “It does feel like we’re building towards a moment and the genie can’t be put back in the bottle.”

The investigator also urged caution in how the information is framed, warning that officials should avoid what he described as “fear-based disclosure” in favour of a more reassuring approach.

“I think people are going to be shocked,” he said, adding that the evidence he had reviewed over years of research “suggests there is nothing to fear”.

The US government has for years faced mounting pressure from lawmakers, former intelligence officials and advocacy groups to release more information about UAP sightings, particularly those recorded by military personnel.

In response, successive administrations have expanded reporting frameworks and begun systematic declassification efforts, culminating in the current release programme.

Yet despite the renewed interest, official assessments have remained cautious. The Pentagon has not confirmed any evidence of extraterrestrial origin, and most cases remain officially classified as “unresolved” rather than explained.

The latest disclosures are expected to continue in further waves, with officials indicating that additional historical and modern files are still undergoing review.

For investigators like Golembeske, however, the process is already pointing towards a larger revelation.

“The genie can’t be put back in the bottle,” he said.
