Who’s the artist behind the UK’s tallest piece of street art? No, not Banksy. It’s Stik.

Stik just completed a 125ft piece called “Big Mother” on the side of the Charles Hocking House council estate in Acton. Built for low-income families in 1967, the estate is set to be demolished in 2016.

The artwork aims to highlight the lack of social housing in London and shows a mother and child looking down from a council estate.

According to The Independent, the artwork is also visible from planes flying nearby.

Stik, the formerly homeless street artist who painted the mural said: “Affordable housing in Britain is under threat, this piece is to remind the world that all people need homes.”
