Music streaming giant Spotify could make a bid for Soundcloud, it has been revealed.

Sweden-based Spotify is in talks with its German rival to explore options of a deal.

The news comes as competition in the music-streaming sector is heating up as tech giant Amazon is planning to launch its own music service.

Despite their huge popularity, streaming services are struggling to turn a profit.  

SoundCloud and Spotify have not made any official statement about a potential deal.
