President Donald Trump has been humiliated as his presidential Twitter campaign account was temporarily suspended after misinformation over coronavirus was posted.
Twitter said they froze Team Trump’s account after posting an excerpt of an interview with Trump where he made a statement which breaches coronavirus misinformation rules.
In a video of a phone interview with Fox News, Trump claimed that children are “almost immune” from the virus.
The US President said, “If you look at children, children are almost and I would almost say definitely, but almost immune from this disease.
“I don’t know how you feel about it, but they have much stronger immune systems than we do, somehow, for this.
“And they don’t have a problem. They just don’t have a problem.”
A Twitter spokesperson said, “This video includes false claims that a group of people is immune from COVID-19 which is a violation of our policies around harmful COVID misinformation.”
Tim Murtaugh, Director of Communications for the President’s 2020 re-election campaign said on Twitter, “The Twitter employee who announced to the world why the Team Trump account was briefly suspended is also Kamala Harris’s former press secretary.
“Silicon Valley is hopelessly biased against the President and only enforces the rules in one direction.”
