Apple’s sent out a snazzy invitation for a new event in Cupertino.

The invitation titled “Let us loop you in” has fuelled rumours that Apple is going to launch a new iPhone at the event.

According to various media reports, Apple is likely to launch a smaller phone, the iPad Air 3, and new Apple Watch bands.

The smaller iPhone is expected to be similar to the iPhone 5s launched in 2013. The handset is likely to have updated components and a faster A9 processor.

The spring event will be followed by Apple’s big launch of the iPhone 7 in September.

Leaked images have suggested that Apple’s going to launch the iPhone 7 in without headphone sockets.

Other rumours doing the rounds include the next iPhone being as thin as Apple’s iPod Touch.

From a “source who has provided reliable information in the past”, tech blog MacRumours has learnt that new phone will have two major changes.

A report read: “The iPhone 7 body will appear very similar to the design used for the iPhone 6 and 6s, with two significant exceptions.

“On the iPhone 7, the camera is said to sit flush with the rear casing, enabled by a thinner camera module.”
