Sir Richard Branson plans to “raise the roof” to celebrate the reopening of his £60m luxury Caribbean getaway after it was destroyed by fire in August 2011.

Located on Branson’s own island, Necker Island, the luxury house was struck by lightening from Hurricane Irene. Branson’s son Jack and mother and guest Kate Winslet ran for safety following the fire.

Richard Branson apparently fell naked into a cactus as he fled the fire.

Branson said: “We didn’t want to lose the magic of the old house, but we wanted to do some magical new things. It’s like the old house on steroids.

“The gods were welcoming us back!”
