I’m not a racist! Nadine Dorries faces Twitter backlash after comparing Chuka Umunna with Chris Eubank

Nadine Torries yesterday faced backlash on Twitter after comparing Labour Business Secretary Chuka Umunna to retired boxer Chris Eubank.

In a similar incident last year, Dorries was accused of being racist when she tweeted #wheresmyshotgunman after seeing Reginald D Hunter speaking to her daughter.

She tweeted, “Chuka Umumma reminds me more of the guy with the monocle and the squeaky voice than Obama. Whats his name?”

“Chris Eubank! That’s it . He’s deffo more Eubank than Obama. #chukaumanna”

“Can’t resist a bit of casual racism eh?” said one Twitter user in reply to her tweet.

Apparently I’m racist because I think Chuck Umunna looks like Chris Eubank ?What would I be if I said he looked like someone who was white??

In her defence Dorries said that she drew the comparison as she found both had an “arrogant smirk”.
