Burger King and Domino’s Pizza have been named as the latest employers to recruit staff on zero-hours contracts. Nine out of 10 McDonald’s employees are on zero-hours contracts, it emerged yesterday.

Business minister Michael Fallon has invited traditional brokers to take part in the privatisation of Royal Mail. The move is part of the efforts to give members of the public the opportunity to buy shares in Royal Mail. “I want postmen and women to hold the shares themselves, to receive the dividends themselves and to vote themselves,” said Fallon.
Burst water main leaves Herne Hill streets under a metre of water
Between 30 and 50 homes and businesses were flooded after a 3ft-wide water pipe burst at around 5am today. Properties on Half Moon Lane, Dulwich Road, and Milkwood Road were the worst-affected.
