Emergency services rush to incident at Finsbury Park station

Finsbury Park station was closed on Monday morning which led to dozens of police, fire engines and ambulances responding to an incident.

They responded to reports of a “casualty on the tracks” which led to commuters tweeting that a “major incident” had took place.

A Twitter user reported, “Judging from the number of police, fire trucks, and ambulances, looks like some kind of major incident at Finsbury Park.”

Great Western Railway wrote on Twitter, “Finsbury Park: Closed – Station is closed due to a customer incident.”

A British Transport Police spokesman said the force was called to reports of a “casualty on the tracks. 

He said a woman was taken to a “place of safety.”

He added, “British Transport Police were called to Finsbury Park Underground station at 8am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Officers attended and a woman was taken to a place of safety. She is not deemed to have suffered any serious injuries.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
